Cauterization

Cauterization is a specialized hair treatment designed to reconstruct and seal very fine, frizzy, and damaged hair, with a particular focus on blonde and bleached hair types. This therapy works by sealing the hair's porous cuticle, locking in essential nutrients and moisture, and providing a subtle straightening and smoothing effect. It's the ideal solution for those who want to restore the health of their compromised hair, eliminate frizz, and achieve a sleek, polished look without a full, permanent straightening. The result is hair that is revitalized, stronger, and smoother, with a renewed elasticity and a brilliant, healthy shine.

Solutions we work with

The scientific principle of Cauterization involves the deep infusion of these active ingredients into the hair shaft. Gentle, controlled heat is then applied to "cauterize" or seal the hair's outer cuticle. This process effectively locks the reparative ingredients inside, smoothing the hair's surface and protecting it from further damage. It is a true intensive care treatment that focuses on rebuilding the hair's integrity from the inside out, while providing a noticeable anti-frizz and subtle straightening effect.

This treatment uses a targeted blend of restorative proteins and hydrating agents to repair and protect delicate hair.

Key active components include:

Hydrolysed Keratin: As a core building block of hair, hydrolysed keratin is crucial for filling in the gaps and rebuilding the compromised protein structure of fine, damaged strands. Its small molecular size allows it to penetrate deeply, restoring strength and elasticity to hair weakened by bleaching and other chemical processes.

Amino Acid Complex: A precise blend of amino acids works in synergy with keratin to further fortify the hair fibre. These components help to repair the surface of the hair, smooth the cuticle, and improve its resistance to breakage, which is a common issue for fine, over-processed hair.

Gentle Hydrating Agents: The formula includes lightweight hydrating ingredients that provide deep moisture without weighing down fine hair. These components combat the dryness and brittleness often associated with damaged hair, restoring its natural softness and flexibility.

Indications

A rejuvenated hair with a significant reduction in frizz and a subtle, soft straightening effect. Clients will experience stronger, more elastic, and smoother hair, along with renewed shine and vitality.

Very fine and fine hair types, especially for clients with blonde, bleached, or frizzy hair.

Hair that is severely damaged, porous, dull, or frizzy. It is perfect for hair that has been weakened by colouring or bleaching and is prone to breakage and a straw-like texture.

Customers seeking a dramatic improvement in their hair's health and appearance after significant damage, particularly for those who desire a slight straightening effect.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Previously Relaxed, Straightened or Permed Hair: Not recommended for hair that has been previously treated with traditional chemical relaxers (e.g., lye or no-lye products). The combination of different chemical processes can lead to unpredictable results.

Severely Damaged Hair that Cannot Withstand Heat: While this treatment is for damaged hair, extremely compromised hair (e.g., mushy, gummy, or highly sensitive to heat) should be assessed carefully. A professional consultation is crucial to determine if the hair can safely receive thermal activation.

Scalp or Skin Conditions: Individuals with scalp abrasions, sores, or specific skin conditions should seek advise or avoid this treatment.

Pregnant or Breastfeeding Clients: Consult a medical professional before receiving the treatment.

PRE TREATMENT

Attend appointment with freshly washed hair, the same day or the day before.

Do not use any conditioners or styling products after the wash and dry.

Inform your stylist of any previous chemical treatments or allergies.

To reach an optimal result, a repeat or a series of treatments may be required depending on the starting hair condition.

AFTER CARE

Do not wash your hair for at least 48 hours after the treatment to allow the new bonds to fully set.

Use sulphate-free and sodium chloride-free shampoos and conditioners to prolong the life of the treatment and protect the results. Suitable recommended sets are available for purchase at the clinic. Using different aftercare products may not guarantee quality and longevity of the treatment.

Hair must be thoroughly dried with a hairdryer after every wash, pointing the airflow downwards. Air-drying is not recommended after this treatment to maintain the sealed cuticle and smooth finish.

Use a heat protectant spray before blow-drying or using hot styling tools.

Limit exposure to chlorine or salt water, as it can reduce the longevity of the treatment.

To maintain high quality results, a touch-up maintenance visit is required every 2-3 months, depending on the root length and preference.
